Members and roles#
Bring your team into a burrow. Invite people by email from the Members tab. If someone already has a RatelKey account they join right away, and if they don't, the invitation walks them through creating one and adds them for you.
Give everyone the right level of access. Each member has a role, and three are ready from the start: Administrator, who manages the burrow's secrets, machines, and people; Developer, for everyday work with secrets, machines, and tokens; and Member, which is sign-in only, for someone who should reach the burrow without changing anything yet.
Or shape your own. Create custom roles with exactly the access you want, area by area, from secrets to machines, tokens, and the audit log, and whether each is view only, changes, or full control. You can move a member to a different role whenever you need to.
Adjust access as your team changes. Pause someone's access without removing them, give it back later, or remove them entirely. Access is checked every time, so a change takes effect on their very next action.
Restore from a backup#
You can now rebuild a burrow from one of its backups. Place your backup file in the restore folder inside your burrow's data directory (~/burrow/lib/app/data/restore) and open your burrow. As the owner, you'll be asked to restore it. Enter the passphrase your backup was created with, and your projects, environments, and secrets come back just as they were, including every earlier version of every value.
Restoring onto a new burrow keeps that burrow yours. Its members, address, and settings stay exactly as they are, and your secrets are brought in on top. You can bring the backup's audit log along if you want it, and your machines can reconnect once the restore finishes.
It keeps you posted. The restore shows you each part of the work as it happens, so you can watch it through to the end.
